Across the island of Bali, there are people with disabilities that are cut off from community and continued medical attention. We at Access Life Bali want people with disabilities to have their hope restored and know that they still have value and purpose. By providing people with disabilities a wheelchair or the appropriate assistive device, we provide them access to participate in family and community events. People that were once confined to their bed are now able to move around their house and community in a wheelchair. Since 2009, Access Life Bali has distributed over 600 wheelchairs to people in Bali with disabilities who could not otherwise afford one.
We also strive to provide appropriate therapy tools, assistive devices, education, and exercises to help people regain strength and mobility. In dire circumstances, we have advocated on behalf of the person who is disabled and acted as a liaison between them and the hospital system to help them receive the care they need.
