Chaya is a nutritional leafy green vegetable that is extremely easy to grow. Chaya is high is iron, calcium, and vitamin C. It also has a good amount of protein. Our team puts on trainings to educate communities about the nutritional content of the plant, give a cooking demonstration on how to prepare the leaves, and another demonstration on how to plant the sticks to grow new trees.
One of our chaya trainings conducted was at a Pesantren, an Islamic Boarding School, for middle-school aged boys and girls. Many women from the surrounding community also participated in the training.
