Water Project in Pedawa

This water project in Pedawa, Singaraja, North Bali has been a huge success. Pak Nyoman, the head of ALB water team, did an excellent job leading the community in this project. In June and July of 2017, the final parts of the water project were completed. Our team built 8 two-meter tanks, which are being fed by a large water tank which is continually replenished by an enclosed spring. From the 8 two-meter tanks, water is piped directly into homes.

The area recently encountered heavy rains with landslides which affected water sources in the wider area. However, the source that was protected and built up by the Access Life Bali team did not experience any change in water quality. The head of the water council, Pak Mersu, was very grateful for the tanks and pipes that are providing water to hundreds of people.

We are also happy to report that the community used the knowledge and expertise taught by Pak Nyoman to make further modifications to the water tanks. These modifications reduce waste and have made it possible for water to be shared with communities that were not initially part of the project plan.
